The Resident Evil 3 Remake was originally released in March 2020, nearly two years ago. At the time, Nate rated the game 8.5 out of 10, pointing to its shortness as the biggest drawback. However, out of all the most recent Resident Evil games, Resident Evil 3 Remake is definitely the least successful one. The Resident Evil 2 Remake now sits at 9.30 million units, whereas Resident Evil Village, which came out less than a year ago, already surpassed 5.70 million units. CAPCOM is pushing the franchise heavily across film and TV, too. Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City launched late last year in theaters to mixed reviews and modest financial success, though that might just be enough to warrant a sequel, which director Johannes Roberts said could be an adaptation of Code Veronica or Resident Evil 4. Additionally, Netflix is working on a TV series that should focus on Albert Wesker’s daughters Jade and Billie Wesker. Wesker himself will be played by Lance Reddick.
