Over the past few weeks, we’ve seen several leaks for next month’s remake of the remastered PS4 version. A lot has been said when it comes to pricing, but going by the visuals we’ve seen so far, it goes without saying that Naughty Dog has put a lot of effort into this remake. Now, a week before the game’s release on PlayStation 5, a Russian YouTuber’s entire intro has been leaked, and without spoiling too much, we can only say that the enhanced visuals and facial animations really add to the overall immersion....

I always thought the character from Epic’s first Unreal Engine 5 demo looked a bit like Lara Croft, and perhaps Crystal Dynamics noticed it too! It’s interesting to hear that Crystal Dynamics is tackling a new Tomb Raider, as they’re also doing the heavy lifting on another big adventure with a British female protagonist – Perfect Dark. Will Crystal Dynamics have the capacity to handle both games? Let’s hope so....

Nice to see more of a focus on the characters. The over-the-top action scenes are great, but it’s going to be the chemistry between Holland, Wahlberg, and the rest of the cast that really carries the movie. Many consider the 1991/1992 SNES installment one of the best, if not the best, entries in the series, and now, more than 30 years after its global release, we have an unofficial native PC version of this classic title. Like the above-mentioned unofficial PC ports, the team has managed to reverse-engineer the game’s source code, and this port features roughly 70-80kLOC of C/C++ code, and re-implements all parts of the original game....

Development on this fan remake kicked off earlier this year and will offer a new zombies system in addition to new animations alongside the dodge mechanic that Capcom introduced in Resident Evil 3 Remake. Looking at this list, it doesn’t seem like 2022 will go down in history as one of the most outstanding years for fans of multiplayer games. That said, some of these titles may well end up surprising everyone, and there’s always the chance for something coming out completely out of the proverbial left field.
