The teaser trailer for Silent Hill Townfall is brief, but evocative. We hear a voice interrogating somebody, hinting that they’ve been trapped somewhere and about to be punished for doing something “awful.” The voice also teases the person they’re talking to, presumably the game’s protagonist, is there for some other nefarious reason as well. The teaser trailer shows waves washing on the shore, implying the game likely takes place on some sort of island, and an old-school portable TV shows various spooky and grisly images....

The new widgets are referred to as InfoShack internally but we are not sure if the name would stick until Apple sees fit to officially announce it. Qualcomm Switching to TSMC Due to Samsung’s Reportedly Low Yield Rate Qualcomm was said to try its luck with TSMC for mass producing the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus, with a reason given that Samsung’s low yield rate of 4nm wafers forced its hand. This short-term setback also means that fewer Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 shipments would be delivered to customers, and they will certainly be displeased with Qualcomm’s current efforts....

Denuvo, the DRM that has become infamous in the gaming community for the issues it brings to PC games, has been confirmed to be part of Sonic Origins on Steam. Denuvo Anti-Tamper DRM is nothing new for pre-launch titles. Some of them have essentially removed the DRM a few weeks post-launch to prevent the performance drop from happening in the long term....

On his LinkedIn profile, Senior Build Engineer Garrett Fredley confirmed that yesterday was his first day as part of the PlayStation Game Preservation Team. Fredley has headed the preservation efforts for the FIFA franchise at Electronic Arts for three years, and Game Preservation was his first career passion, as he himself highlighted in a message shared on LinkedIn. With Sony gearing up for the launch of the new PlayStation Plus, which will grant access to classic games released on older consoles, it makes sense for the Japanese company to put together a team that is dedicated to the preservation of these games....

SpaceX’s Starlink satellite internet service crossed a significant milestone after the company revealed that Starlink now has more than a million active subscribers. SpaceX opened the service to the public in 2020 and allowed orders a couple of months later in 2021. Since then, the company has been rapidly building its constellation by conducting regular launches of the Falcon 9 rocket. At the same time, it has also upgraded its satellites, which has resulted in the Falcon 9 being able to launch lesser satellites than it previously could during the early days of the launch....

Arguably the main addition of Splitgate Beta Season 1 is the map editor, which will initially let you mess around with spawn points, weapons, blocks, portal walls, and more. One of the main new tidbits revealed by the designer is the focus on more complex romantic relationships compared to previous games from BGS. One of the things that we actually have pushed in Starfield - so we have a number of companions, but four them, we go, I won’t say super complex romantic, but more complex relationships than we’ve had in terms of not just whether they like you or they don’t like you....

Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin won’t support NVIDIA DLSS at launch, but there are plans to add support for it in future updates. The same happened with Team Ninja’s previous game Nioh 2, by the way, which received NVIDIA DLSS with patch 1.26 around two weeks after the release. Ultrawide (21:9 aspect ratio) monitors are supported at launch. Uncapped frame rate is not supported, but players will be able to get the frame rate up to 120 FPS....
